About Us
Language Wonder Lab was co-founded by Ana and Janike, two local Decatur moms inspired by their own bilingual parenting journeys. Ana now leads Language Wonder Lab, continuing to design joyful and immersive learning experiences in Spanish for children and their families. In 2026, Gema joined Ana; together, they create spaces to support young learners’ multilingual practices and communities.
Ana
Founder & Educator
Ana is originally from Costa Rica. She is an educational researcher, teacher educator, and former second language teacher with a background in applied and social linguistics. She has over 20 years of experience working with multilingual children and their teachers. After becoming a mother, she was inspired to support families interested in nurturing the bilingualism of their children outside of formal educational settings.
Gema
Educator & Operations
Laura Gema is s a proud mom of two, originally from Colombia. She has a professional background in business and currently teaches Latiné small business owners how to use technology and financial tools to grow and succeed. She is always looking for ways to give back to her community and is excited to inspire children to embrace bilingualism and feel proud of who they are.
